Scenic Rim Regional Council is calling on the community to have its say on two key initiatives now open for consultation through the Let's Talk Scenic Rim online engagement platform.

Consultation opened this week on the Draft Scenic Rim Climate Change Roadmap 2024-2034 and Action Plan as well as the Draft Land Management Plan for Dick Westerman Park, which has been earmarked as a suitable site for the proposed Beaudesert Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC).

Council recognises the future impacts of climate change and is committed to working with the community to respond to these challenges in the Scenic Rim.

Survey submissions will be accepted until Friday 27 October 2023 and, once all feedback has been considered, the climate change roadmap and action plan will be presented to Council for adoption later this year.

As the trustee of the area proposed for the PCYC, Council is required to prepare a Land Management Plan, which includes community consultation for the existing and proposed use of the site near the Beaudesert industrial precinct, for approval by the Queensland Government Department of Resources.

Community consultation for the draft land management plan also closes on Friday 27 October 2023.

For details of the consultations or to join the conversation, members of the community should visit the Let's Talk Scenic Rim website
