Council team members have the right to be safe at work.

We will always do our best to assist our customers, consistent with the commitments in Council’s Customer Charter.

  • We’ll make dealing with us as easy as possible 
  • We’ll be open and honest, always 
  • We’ll follow through, and 
  • We’ll put our community first.

In return, we ask that our customers are respectful. Abusive language or threatening behaviours towards our team will not be tolerated. 

These behaviours are not okay:

  • Aggression, including raising your voice at an Officer.
  • Discriminatory or derogatory comments 
  • Harassment
  • Insults or offensive communication 
  • Intimidation
  • Malicious or defamatory statements 
  • Rudeness
  • Threatening gestures
  • Threats, and 
  • Violence. 


Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. Please refer to Council’s exclusion procedure
