Nominations are now open for Scenic Rim's 2025 Australia Day Awards which offer an opportunity to provide a shout out to the region's quiet achievers who give their time and their talents to their local community.

Celebrating the contribution of the Scenic Rim's grassroots groups and community champions, the awards will be presented in four categories recognising those who make a positive difference to the lives of others.

Scenic Rim's Community Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Kerri Cryer said the awards provided an opportunity for members of the wider community to thank those whose efforts as volunteers often went unrewarded.

"These are people who make the Scenic Rim such a wonderful place to live and raise a family and are well worthy of our recognition," she said.

"Council's Australia Day awards celebrate the events where family memories are made and acknowledge the individuals who give so much to volunteer organisations that are at the heart of community life.

"Taking the time to nominate someone special is a small way of repaying the time they have devoted to their community, whether over a number of years or many decades."
