Head Road project on track for completion

Major works on Head Road at Carneys Creek, which was damaged during the 2019 Black Summer bushfires and subsequent flood events, are well on track as the project reaches its final stages. 
 
Construction of retaining structures and the road pavement are complete, with the final phase of the landslip site remediation and road seal preparation progressing well.    

Additional road repairs and safety improvements to Head Road are also being carried out to enable the anticipated opening of the road in early December 2023, weather and construction conditions permitting. 

Assistance for this project has been provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
