Information session puts potential candidates in the know

Potential candidates for the upcoming Scenic Rim Regional Council by-election for Division 1 have an opportunity to learn more about a Councillor's roles and responsibilities at an information session next week.

The 'So you want to be a Councillor?' information evening, hosted by the Scenic Rim Regional Council and supported by the Local Government Association of Queensland, will be held at Tamborine Mountain Library on Monday 20 March from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

The session will cover the responsibilities of Councillors under the Local Government Act 2009 with potential candidates receiving an information package which includes the Councillor Code of Conduct, Scenic Rim Regional Council's 2021-2022 Annual Report, Corporate Plan and 2022-23 Community Budget.

This session aims to offer potential candidates with the support and clarity they may require to successfully complete their nomination ahead of the by-election.
