Gleneagle to Take Off as a Residential Area

Council's approval for a subdivision will see the further development of Gleneagle as a residential area.

The 49.47 hectare site, formerly occupied by a poultry farm on the Mount Lindesay Highway, will be redeveloped over four stages with 82 residential allotments ranging in size from 1000m2 to 1210m2.

Planning and Development Committee Chair, Cr Rick Stanfield, said the site was located in Beaudesert's residential precinct within a greenfield masterplan area.

"Much of the land has been historically cleared and consists of grassland with regrowth vegetation and scattered eucalyptus and ironbark trees," he said.

"The proposed development generally complies with the requirements of the Planning Scheme and is consistent with the development permit granted by the Planning and Environment Court on 2 September 2011, which was subsequently amended on 1 July 2015.

"While the site is not currently serviced by town water or sewer, it is able to be connected to these services.

"However, as a first stage of the development, Council requires Arbour Drive to the intersection of Tullamore Way to be upgraded to meet its standards for access streets."
