A further residential subdivision has been approved for Kalbar following Council’s endorsement at this week's Ordinary Meeting following the recent approval of another residential subdivision in Kalbar.

The first stage of the development provides for 24 larger residential lots and marks the first of two stages of development.

Twenty-four of the lots range between 736m2 to 1,385m2 in size with the majority around 1,000m2. The second stage of the development is an additional 14 unsewered lots over 4,000m2.

The site is situated east of Kalbar at Davies Street, which will be extended as part of the proposed works to allow for each site to have direct frontage to a new public road.

The development is within the Low-Density Residential zone and forms part of the natural extension of the Kalbar township.

Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen says this residential development is another significant milestone for the development of the Kalbar township.

“Newly developed residential areas within our rural towns have proven popular with many families making the Scenic Rim their new home.

“The site in Kalbar provides residents an opportunity for country living while still being connected to Boonah and Ipswich Central. The Kalbar State School is also located within a walking distance."

Division 6 Councillor Duncan McInnes said that the lot sizes are consistent with the spacious living that the Scenic Rim is renowned for.

“This is a very exciting development for Kalbar enabling more people to live in the Scenic Rim which offers a relaxed and affordable lifestyle,” he said.

Council’s endorsement of the new residential subdivision follows the recent approval of the third and final stage of the Kalbar Country Estate which provides an additional 32 residential lots.
