The Kalbar Country Estate development has reached another milestone today following Council’s approval of a new subdivision at Wheatfield Street in Kalbar.

The approved subdivision represents the third and final stage of the Kalbar Country Estate which provides an additional 32 residential lots.

Scenic Rim Division 6 Councillor Duncan McInnes says this is a great win for the future of Kalbar as well as those looking to move to the area and make Kalbar their new home.

“As a Council, we are keen to support the development of the Kalbar township and community. We recognise the town as a key location for future growth and economic prosperity for the region.”

The 32 new lots are fully serviced and provide close to a quarter acre each (around 1,000m2 in size).

The overall configuration is consistent with the previously approved stages of the estate and maintains the low-density residential character envisioned under the planning scheme.

Council also approved the development of a new road to provide accessibility for residents. Wheatfield Street and Pioneer Drive will be extended and form an internal road that will service the residential lots.

“The Estate provides future residents an opportunity for country living while still being connected to Boonah and Ipswich Central.”

“The idyllic setting provides views of Mount French and the characteristic rugged mountain landscapes of the region,”

“We look forward to welcoming new residents to Kalbar, and the Scenic Rim region which offers a relaxed and affordable lifestyle,” Cr McInnes said.

The subdivision site is in the Low-Density Residential Zone and has demonstrated compliance with the relevant codes of the Scenic Rim Planning Scheme 2020.
