Beaudesert Netballers Score Lease Extension

The Beaudesert and District Netball Association has scored another lease renewal from Council on facilities at Mavor Park.

The association has managed the property at Helen Street, Beaudesert, for 35 years and Council has renewed its lease for a further five years with a five-year option for extension that would take the sporting group through to June 2028.

Council's Corporate and Community Services Committee Chair, Cr Michael Enright, said the association had managed all facilities associated with the lease - eight netball courts, a canteen, meeting room and a toilet block at Mavor Park - to a high standard.

"The netball association is one of those organisations that does an outstanding job in Beaudesert and also supports Council's goal for improved health and wellbeing in the Scenic Rim community," he said.

Division 2 Councillor Nadia O'Carroll also commended the club for its contribution to the community over more than three decades.

"I used to play netball there, a long time ago, and the facility is testament to a group of people who have created a great legacy for the community," she said.
