Celebrate Positive Role Models At Men's Day Dinner
Join Australian actor William McInnes and athlete Mark Knowles for a free International Men's Day dinner on Thursday 15 November at The Centre, Beaudesert.
Mayor Greg Christensen has issued an open invitation to celebrate positive male role models over a lively discussion about the resilience and strength of family-orientated men.
TV star and author William McInnes, who is best known for his role in Australian classic Blue Heelers and more recently starred in Rake, will discuss his family memories with laughs and share poignant stories from his new book, Fatherhood.
Hockey legend Mark Knowles will tell of his time at the helm of the Australian Kookaburras and how a boy from the bush made it all the way to lead the Australian Commonwealth Games Team in 2018.
Cr Christensen said it was a pleasure to be able to welcome men from across the Scenic Rim for the International Men's Day celebration.
"It is a time to catch up with good mates, old mates and even meet some new mates," he said.
"I am looking forward to listening to our speakers discuss their family lives and balancing that with their successful careers.
"It is a worthwhile conversation to enable us to commend Scenic Rim men for being the positive role models that they are."
The free International Men's Day Dinner will be held at The Centre, Beaudesert on Thursday 15 November at 6:30pm. Dress smart casual. RSVPs are essential. Email events@scenicrim.qld.gov.au or call 5540 5399 by Friday 9 November to secure your place.
