BOOK OUT A TABLET FROM THE HUBLET
Scenic Rim Regional Council library members can now book out a tablet with the arrival of the Hublet at Beaudesert Library.
The Hublet lending machine docks six tablets for use within the library and once re-docked, each tablet reverts to its original settings.
Division 4 Councillor Michael Enright welcomed the addition to the Beaudesert Library and urged residents to test drive the Hublet.
"This opens up so many more avenues for residents to be involved in the library and allows the digital divide to be crossed by those who don't own a tablet," he said.
"These tablets allow more users to access the internet as the demand for our library's current desktop computers continues to increase.
"It also allows students, of any age, to come and utilise online learning tools, books or any other e-resources, and provides children with access to a whole world of safe online fun."
Each Hublet tablet can be borrowed for up to two hours.
To borrow from the Beaudesert Hublet, users must register for a Scenic Rim library card. Registration can be undertaken at any Scenic Rim Library and only requires a form of identification showing the person's current residential address. Children can also be registered against their parent or caregiver's membership.
