Discussions and actions are happening behind the scenes to ensure the future of the valued Containers for Change recycling service in the Scenic Rim.

Council has fielded concerns from residents after a recycling provider contracted by the Queensland Government to deliver Containers for Change unexpectedly stopped servicing the Scenic Rim on 24 April.

Council expects an announcement about the future of Containers for Change in the Scenic Rim is not far away.

Residents are encouraged to please hang onto their cans and bottles, as it is understood new facilities are coming.

In the meantime, Re. Turn-it continues to offer Containers for Change services at Vinnies, 16-18 High Street, Boonah.

It must be noted that the Containers for Change scheme is managed by the Queensland Government, not Scenic Rim Regional Council.
