Waste Services Update
In response to recent weather events, Scenic Rim Regional Council will be providing waste clean-up services to aid community recovery. This clean-up campaign has commenced, with clean up and removal of event related waste and debris in vicinity of roads and public areas well underway. In the coming weeks, event related waste and debris will be collected form the kerbside and disposed of.
The Tamborine area has been added to the list of locations where kerbside collection will take place, alongside Tamborine Mountain and Beechmont. Residents are encouraged to place their eligible waste (disaster related waste) to the kerbside in a safe area, clear of the property boundary and the road. Council collection crews will then collect this waste and dispose of. It is anticipated that the collection of the waste for the Tamborine area will commence 31 March 2025.
Residents must consult their insurer as a first point of call for any damages caused by fallen trees or debris.
Only disaster-related waste from 7 March onwards will be collected. Waste which is not associated with TC Alfred and related weather events will not be collected.
Only disaster-related waste from inside and immediately outside the home is eligible. Eligible waste does NOT INCLUDE general green waste, general house and yard clean-up, commercial waste, building materials, asbestos, car batteries, tyres, gas bottles, paint, chemicals or other hazardous materials. These items will NOT be accepted as event related waste and will be left on your footpath
All of Council's Waste Transfer Facilities are back to normal operating capacity.
Temporary bulk bins are no longer available.
