Council to remove event related waste and debris

Residents are encouraged to place their eligible waste to the kerbside in a safe area, clear of the property boundary and the road. Council collection crews will then collect this waste and dispose of it in a number of passes. A forward schedule communicating approximate collection dates will be disseminated for in the near future - with the initial collection commencing in the Tamborine Mountain and Beechmont area. It is preferred that residents within these areas place their waste for kerbside collection rather than taking it to the temporary waste facility.
Residents must consult their insurer as a first point of call for any damages caused by fallen trees or debris.
Only disaster-related waste from 7 March onwards will be collected. Waste which is not associated with TC Alfred and related weather events will not be collected.
Only disaster-related waste from inside and immediately outside the home is eligible. Eligible waste does NOT INCLUDE general green waste, general house and yard clean-up, commercial waste, building materials, asbestos, car batteries, tyres, gas bottles, paint, chemicals or other hazardous materials. These items will NOT be accepted as event related waste and will be left on your footpath
Residents are advised not to transport their own waste to temporary facilities, but place it to the kerb where it will be collected by Council crews.
Assessment of kerbside collection within the rest of the region will be reviewed and assessed. All of Council's Waste Transfer Facilities should be back to normal operating capacity in the near future.
