Celebrating the festive season and the creativity of the Scenic Rim community, Council will wrap up 2024 with an exhibition that is Gift Wrapped.

The exhibition, which is now open and runs until Saturday 14 December at The Centre Beaudesert, includes more than 300 works for sale by 31 artists from the Scenic Rim as well as the wider South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales regions.

The Scenic Rim's Community Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Kerri Cryer, who will officially launch the exhibition on Saturday 26 October, said Gift Wrapped 2024 offered something for everyone, either as the perfect present for someone special or an addition to a personal collection.

"The show features carefully crafted sculptures, pottery, paintings, works on paper, jewellery, textiles, fibre works, glass art, photography and much more, with something for every taste and budget," she said

"If you are looking for something for someone who has everything, this enchanting exhibition has hand-made gifts that are not only unique but also support members of our region's vibrant arts community.

"Everything in this stunning collection is presented ready to take home and give to family and friends or to add beauty to your home or as your investment in locally hand-made art."

Many of the artists and artisans who have contributed to Gift Wrapped 2024 have previously exhibited at The Centre Beaudesert and have established a following within the Scenic Rim community and beyond.

Scenic Rim artists featured in the exhibition include Catherine Anderson, Erica Bates, Julia Bramich, Fiona Campbell, Lyn C, Heather Dale, Julie Edwards, Anita Egginton, Shannon Hunter, Lilly Piri, Nicci Parry - PJ Pottery, Sue Russ - Lavender Leadlights, Maureen See, Felicity Smith, Wendi Trulson, Twisted Murf, Heather Wehl, Stephanie Wernick and Cindy Wood - Twig Designs.

The eclectic mix of works in the Gift Wrapped 2024 exhibition ranges from practical everyday items to the purely ornamental.

"This exhibition showcases the wealth of talent in our creative community," Cr Cryer said.

"Whether it's a gift for someone special or something to spoil yourself, you'll find plenty to tempt in Gift Wrapped 2024."

Everyone is invited to the exhibition opening at The Centre Beaudesert on Saturday 26 October from 2.00pm to 4.30pm which includes light refreshments and the opportunity to meet many of the artists behind the Gift Wrapped 2024 works.

"As we wrap up our cultural year, I hope you will join in the celebration of our creative Scenic Rim community," Cr Cryer said.
