The stellar success of the Scenic Rim's business community will be celebrated at the 2023 Business Excellence Awards on Friday 10 November, where 43 businesses and four individuals will be in the running for awards in 11 categories.

Tickets are now on sale for the gala event at The Centre Beaudesert, celebrating excellence in innovation, productivity and customer service of small, medium and large businesses helping to drive the region's thriving local economy.

Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said the biennial Business Excellence Awards provided a valuable opportunity for local businesses to shine in the spotlight and for the wider community to recognise the dedication and determination of local business operators which all play a role in the region's ongoing success story.

"This is a wonderful networking event for everyone - business operators, local organisations and members of the public - as well as family and friends to get together and celebrate the achievements of our business community," he said.

"The awards ceremony will be a spectacular night hosted by media personality Sofie Formica, who is best known for hosting travel and lifestyle programs such as The Great Outdoors, and we'll have entertainment from local musicians Silk 'n' Oak and a fabulous two-course dinner showcasing local produce.

"Beginning with canapes, guests will enjoy food and beverages which have helped to establish the Scenic Rim's reputation as a gourmet destination, with the menu featuring local produce sourced from Australian Sweetwater Crays, Greenlee Farm and Witches Falls Winery."

The awards will be presented in the categories of:

  • Excellence in Tourism and Accommodation
  • Excellence in Hospitality - Food and Dining
  • Excellence in Retail
  • Excellence in Trades and Construction
  • Excellence in Agriculture
  • Excellence in Transport, Logistics, Manufacturing and Mining
  • Excellence in Professional Services
  • Excellence in Community Services

  • Excellence in Business (20+ staff), and
  • Trainee/Apprentice of the Year.

In addition, an overall Regional Prosperity Award will be presented to the business that has achieved outstanding results, exhibited sound management and demonstrated all-round excellence.

"Our region is home to an exceptional array of businesses, all of which play a valuable role in the continued growth of our regional economy and provide employment opportunities for members of our community," Mayor Christensen said.

"Whether traditional, contemporary or niche, all of our local businesses contribute to the richness of our Scenic Rim lifestyle and make our region such a great place to live, work and visit.

"I am looking forward to the awards presentation and to celebrating their achievements."

Tickets to the awards ceremony are $80 per person and include canapes, a drink on arrival and a two-course meal.
