Get Savvy Expos

Scenic Rim residents have been encouraged to make the most of the wealth of knowledge on offer at a series of free community expos across the region in March.

The Get Savvy expos will be held at The Centre Beaudesert, Tamborine Mountain Library and Boonah Cultural Centre, where stallholders will be offering free giveaways and information on everything from aged care to vision loss.

Mayor Greg Christensen said the expos were a mine of information for all ages, addressing a wide range of health and social issues faced by many members of the Scenic Rim community at some stage in their lives.

"Increasingly, aged care is a concern for many members of our community and their families and so care providers and allied organisations will be well represented at the Get Savvy events," he said.

"However, there's something for everyone, from savvy seniors to parents of pre-schoolers, as stallholders will have information on the National Disability Insurance Scheme, financial counselling, diet and nutrition, mental health and how to stay fit and healthy.

"A number of community organisations and sporting groups will also be represented so there's plenty of scope for anyone new to the region or looking for a new interest to connect with others."

The Get Savvy expos will be held from 10am to 12pm on the following days and locations:

  • Tuesday 13 March at The Centre, Beaudesert
  • Wednesday 14 March at Tamborine Mountain Library
  • Thursday 15 March at Boonah Cultural Centre.
