The Scenic Rim Welcomes Three New Aussies

The Scenic Rim has three new Australians, following a special citizenship ceremony at Beaudesert this week.

Mayor Greg Christensen officiated at the ceremony at Council Chambers, where Leo Creighton Zipf, formerly of Ireland, Angela Moore, originally from New Zealand, and Charlotte Price, who came to Queensland from the United Kingdom, pledged their loyalty to Australia and its people.

"This is a significant moment that I'm proud to share in and I congratulate you on your decision to become Australian citizens," he said.

Leo, of Green Mountain, Angela, of Canungra, and Charlotte, of Tamborine, each received their citizenship certificate as well as a commemorative coin and a potted native tree as mementos of their journey to becoming fair dinkum Aussies.

"We hope you will plant these trees and that they will thrive and prosper, as we hope you will as members of the Scenic Rim community and citizens of Australia," Cr Christensen said.
