Scenic Rim Entrepreneurial Hub

Are you a Scenic Rim-based business looking to grow or up-scale? Or do you have a great idea and want to develop it into a business?

Applications are now open for the Scenic Rim Entrepreneurial Hub Online Program, a free 12-week development course ready to help kickstart your business in 2022.

Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said the program is all about fostering local businesspeople to take their next big step.

“Whether you’re looking to expand your current business, or have a great idea for something new, this program will connect you with business leaders and fellow entrepreneurs to help take your idea to the next level and realise your business goals,” he said.

“The program is free for participants to attend thanks to funding from the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Fund, and our partnership with the Faculty of Business at the University of South Queensland.

“Applicants will need to commit to weekly online sessions from 25 February to 4 June and are expected to invest their passion, time and determination into the program to allow not only themselves to get the most out of the program, but also their mentors and follow participants.

“Supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses can have significant flow-on effects, including new job creation, boosting our local economy and adding to the richness of our community and lifestyle.

“This program could be a turning point for you and your business, so I encourage all local entrepreneurs and businesspeople to apply today and I can’t wait to see our locals realising their business and career goals.”

University of Southern Queensland’s Dr Retha Wiesner, Professor in Management and Research Program Leader for SME Performance and Entrepreneurial Leadership, said she’s looking forward to being involved in the delivery of the award-winning program in the Scenic Rim.

“In the current challenging post-COVID business environment, this entrepreneurial and business development program can be a lifeline in helping local businesses to reset and reimagine their roadmap to success,” she said.

“In just 12 weeks, this entrepreneurial and business development program will help participants take a great idea to the next level, grow their business or progress their career with access to business experts and like-minded businesspeople they may not otherwise have access to.

“It’s a supportive environment where we learn from each other’s mistakes, exchange tips of the trade, share knowledge, build connections, learn new business skills and be held accountable for our progression.

“Places are limited so I encourage all Scenic Rim entrepreneurs to make the most of this opportunity and sign up today.”
