Council Makes it a Date for 2019

With the Ekka show holiday only weeks away, Scenic Rim Regional Council has already marked the calendar for next year's public holiday for the Brisbane show.

This year, Scenic Rim residents will enjoy Monday 13 August as the public holiday for the Royal Queensland Show, more affectionately known as the Ekka.

Council has nominated Monday 12 August 2019 as next year's show public holiday date.

Corporate and Community Services Committee chair Cr Michael Enright said that, once approved, the holiday date would be published in the Queensland Government Gazette.

The Ekka involves many Scenic Rim residents, either as show-goers, competitors, stewards or exhibitors," he said.

"Council's nomination of next year's August public holiday will give everyone in our community plenty of time to plan ahead."
