Expressions of interest EmpowHER 2025

The EmpowHER program 2025 aims to remove barriers for women and girls of all ages to access inclusive, low-cost, health and wellbeing activities that empower them to increase their connection to their body, mind and local community.

Scenic Rim Regional Council is seeking expressions of interest for service providers to deliver activities in the 2025 EmpowHer program. The program provides a range of regular and one off physical, well-being and social activities at public venues and parks to minimise barriers to participation.

Proposed activities should meet one or more of the EmpowHER objectives below:

• Empower and meet the needs of First Nations women and girls living in the Scenic Rim
• Build confidence in women by providing opportunities to participate in adventure activities such as rock climbing or canoeing
• Empower women and girls to increase their physical activity by participating in activities such as hiking, supporting them to connect with nature and explore their own backyard
• Addresses barriers for women and girls to joining a local sporting team
• Celebrate women living, working and contributing to rural community life
• Focus on improving mental and physical health outcomes for women and their families
• Address social isolation and increase social connection between women and girls
• Raise awareness about issues impacting women and girls such as domestic and family violence
• Develop skills and the leadership capacity of women and girls

Applications

Applications will be accepted from 9am Monday 26th August 2024 to 5pm Monday 23rd September 2024 via the online Smarty Grants portal.

Council welcomes applications from providers who are passionate about delivering affordable activities that empower women and girls to be healthy, active and socially connected.

For activities to be eligible, they must:

• Service providers must be a registered business with current ABN or a registered Not For Profit organisation located within the Scenic Rim region
• All activities must be delivered in the Scenic Rim region
• Demonstrate how the activity will meet one or more of the EmpowHER objectives above
• Be affordable for participants
• Be delivered within the Scenic Rim region between 1 January 2025- 31 December 2025
• Hold current public liability insurance to the minimum value of $10 million dollars
• Hold appropriate qualifications, certificates and professional experience including first aid and CPR certificates
• If your application is successful, you will be required to sign a EmpowHER Service Agreement and complete a risk assessment checklist for each activity

How to apply

Applications will be accepted from 9am Monday 26th August 2024 to 5pm Monday 23rd September 2024 via the online Smarty Grants portal. Applications will be assessed on the ability to meet the eligibility criteria and EmpowHER program objectives as well as value for money.
