NDP End of Year Reconstruction Wrap-up

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has been undertaking reconstruction works on roads across multiple Gold Coast, Scenic Rim and Logan Council areas following significant wet weather events that have occurred since December 2020. Works at our major current natural disaster reconstruction sites will take a break over the Christmas/New Year period, minimising travel impacts over the holiday break.

 

Beechmont Road

  • Upslope stabilisation works are now complete and works are continuing downslope.
  • Crews will finish for the holidays on Friday 23 December 2022. The road will remain open to the public at all times until Sunday 8 January 2023. Temporary traffic lights will remain in place.
  • Works will resume Monday 9 January 2023 with regular Monday to Friday temporary road closures from 8:30am to 2:30pm.

 

Gold Coast-Springbrook Road (Between Neranwood Park and Pine Creek Road) 

  • Slope stabilisation works at multiple sites are ongoing.
  • Crews will take a break for the holidays starting Friday 23 December 2022 and will resume Monday 9 January 2023. 
  • Gold Coast-Springbrook Road between Neranwood Park and Pine Creek Road will remain closed for safety. Access to Springbrook is maintained via Pine Creek Road on Nerang–Murwillumbah Road. 

 

Lamington National Park Road

  • Stabilisation works as well as asphalting and drainage works will continue through to 2023.
  • Crews will take a break for the holidays from 23 December 2022 and will resume on Monday 9 January 2023.
  • Traffic will not be impacted during this period however a reduced speed limit of 20km/h will remain in place in some sections for the safety of motorists.


Beaudesert-Boonah Road

  • Stabilisation works between Recycling Street and Waste Facility Road will continue through to 2023.
  • Crews will take a break for the holidays from 23 December 2022 and work will resume on Monday 9 January 2023.

 

Mount Lindesay Highway 

  • Shoulder stabilisation and reconstruction works on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Palen Creek will continue through to 2023.
  • Crews will take a break for the holidays from 23 December 2022 and work will resume on Monday 9 January 2023.

 

Warrill View-Peak Crossing Road 

  • Culvert replacement works near the intersection of Ipswich Street (Cunningham Highway) will be completed prior to Christmas.
  • All traffic controls will be removed, and traffic will return to the original conditions at this location.
