Vehicle Showroom Proposal Gets the Green Light

A state-of-the-art vehicle showroom in Beaudesert has been given the green light by Council.

The approval includes an additional showroom, external vehicle display area, workshop for the repair and servicing of vehicles, and a car parking area at a new site for Beaudesert Mazda on Brisbane Street.

Planning and Development Committee Chair Cr Rick Stanfield welcomed the proposal, which would help drive business and employment in the Scenic Rim. Division 4 Councillor Michael Enright said the proposed development was a strong indicator of the region's economic growth and business confidence.

"This represents an excellent investment in the region that will provide jobs and boost local business," he said.

"It shows strength in the future of Beaudesert and it's great to see business having the confidence to put money into the town.

"I commend long-time motor dealers, the Heubner family, on their commitment to local business and congratulate them on their business expansion providing increased choice for our motoring needs as well as employment opportunities in the region."

A condition of the approval is that there will be no commercial vehicle access from Buchanan Street at the rear end of the site.

Appropriate landscaping and screening will also be required to ensure adjoining properties have a visual buffer.
