Blue skies are a sight for sore eyes today but Scenic Rim residents are warned to stay off roads where possible and remain vigilant.

LDMG Chair Mayor Greg Christensen said while water is receding in some areas, dangerous road conditions remain across the region.

"Council crews are out in full force today working hard to assess damage and begin repairs," he said.

"However, just because water has receded doesn't mean a road is open and safe to travel on.

"All roads are required to be assessed by technical experts to ensure they are safe, and Council crews and our partners are working hard to carry out these assessment as quickly as possible.

"The safety of our community is of the utmost importance so I thank everyone for your patience while we assess, make repairs and reopen roads as soon as it's safe to do so.

"The best way to stay safe is to stay off the roads where possible. If you must travel, check road conditions, stay vigilant of dangerous conditions like severe potholes, follow all roadside signage and never enter floodwaters.

"With various parts of the Scenic Rim and the broader Southeast Queensland region still flooded and disconnected, we're facing many challenges to get personnel and materials to assess roads and begin repairs so we thank you for your patience while these are carried out.

"The latest road conditions are available on Council's Disaster Dashboard. We're aware time and dates are not updating on the Dashboard's Road Conditions page, this is a technical issue that we are working to resolve as quickly as possible, but rest assured all other information on the Dashboard is up-to-date and being updated as more assessments are carried out.

"I again want to take this opportunity to thank our incredible emergency services, employees and volunteers on the ground supporting the community.

"There will continue to be major disruptions to Council facilities and services, stay up to date with these changes via Council's Facebook page.
