Local businesses talk trash for final Business Breakfast

The fourth and final Scenic Rim Business Breakfast for 2021 was all rubbish — litter-ally. 

Scenic Rim businesses and community members across a range of industries attended the last Business Breakfast of the year to hear from social entrepreneur and founder of OzHarvest Ronni Kahn AO. 

Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said the Talkin' Trash Business Breakfast, held last Friday 19 November at The Centre Beaudesert, was the perfect reminder for local businesses to get inspired and set goals for 2022. 

"Our free Scenic Rim Business Breakfasts are about connecting local businesses, fostering new ideas and providing professional and business development,” he said. 

"There was an exciting energy in the room as we heard from local Scenic Rim businesses about their own journey with waste, not only reducing it but the innovative opportunities to benefit from it.  

"Talkin' Trash marks the end of a fantastic series of Business Breakfasts throughout the year which saw hundreds of local businesses gather to learn from fellow business operators and high-profile and inspiring guest speakers. 

"The first Business Breakfast held in March welcomed Maree Adshead, Queensland Commissioner of Small Business, joined by author Robert Gerrish who shared ideas on how to reinvent your business, understand your customers and leverage opportunities.  

"As part of Council's Queensland Small Business Month program across May, the five local Chambers of Commerce hosted a Business Breakfast featuring Shona Kraayvanger from The Hub cafe in Canungra, Toni Earsman from Beaudesert's Terra Firma Fertilisers, and entrepreneur and technology advocate Daniel Johnsen. 

"Recently we heard from the inspiring founder and Artistic Director of Goat Track Theatre, Andrew Wright, as well as local operators on how to put your best foot forward when applying for awards, coinciding with our Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards nominations. 

"It's always a pleasure to connect with our local businesses, to get inspired and share ideas. 

"We know our business owners are very busy, so I want thank everyone who took the time to join us throughout the year and look forward to move innovative and inspiring breakfast sessions in 2022."
