Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards - Nominations now open

Do you have an outstanding business or team member that drives excellence in innovation, productivity and customer service?

The time to recognise Scenic Rim’s most outstanding businesses and individuals is here, with nominations now open for the 2021 Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards.

Mayor Greg Christensen said there’s never been a more important time to recognise and celebrate our local businesses.

“Our region is home to an array of exceptional businesses who have shown incredible resilience and determination throughout the uncertainty of COVID-19,” he said.

“Not only do they play an invaluable role in keeping our regional economy strong, but they also keep locals employed and add to the richness of our lifestyle, which is all worth celebrating.

“The 2021 Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards is the perfect opportunity to showcase, promote and unite our business community by acknowledging our best and brightest business champions.

“Besides being an opportunity to come together and celebrate, the awards are a fantastic opportunity for local businesses of all sizes to take a moment, evaluate their core strengths, strategic focus and performance and receive external feedback from a panel of business leaders.

“We’ve also made the nomination process much easier for our local businesses, with applications submitted online through the SmartyGrants platform, so you can work on and submit your nomination whenever works best for you.

“This year, we’ve introduced the new Workplace Skills Development award, highlighting the importance of upskilling our local workforce, and have expanded our ever-growing tourism and hospitality industry across two categories, taking us to 11 fantastic nomination categories.”

Award Nomination Categories:

  • Excellence in Tourism and Accommodation
  • Excellence in Hospitality - Food and Dining
  • Excellence in Retail
  • Excellence in Trades and Construction
  • Excellence in Agriculture
  • Excellence in Transport, Logistics, Manufacturing and Mining
  • Excellence in Professional and Community Services
  • Most Outstanding New Business
  • Excellence in Business (20+ Staff)
  • Excellence in Workplace Skills Development
  • Trainee/Apprentice of the Year

Winners of each of the 10 business categories will then be in the running for the overall Regional Prosperity Award, recognising a business that has achieved outstanding results and demonstrated all-round excellence.

Cr Christensen said after an overwhelming number of nominations at the 2019 awards, he was looking forward to seeing this year’s nominations.

“I hope to see businesses from all industries, across every corner of the Scenic Rim get involved and get their nomination in,” he said.

“I also can’t wait to come together for the official 2021 Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Boonah Cultural Centre on 5 November 2021 to celebrate the achievements of our business community, so keep an eye out for ticket sales later in the year.”
