Queensland Top Tourism
 Town 2021 - Vote Now

Voting is now open to crown Queensland's favourite tourism town and there are three Scenic Rim towns to choose from.

Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) has announced the inaugural Top Tourism Town Awards finalists and Boonah, Canungra and Tamborine Mountain are all in the running.

Mayor Greg Christensen said that with our spectacular scenery, delicious produce, world-class events and passionate locals, it's no surprise that several Scenic Rim towns are in the race.

"These awards are about recognising towns that offer an amazing visitor experience, where industry and community work together to make their town the best destination, and that's where the Scenic Rim shines," he said.

"From the sweeping views at Tamborine Mountain, to the rolling hills of Canungra and the classic country charm of Boonah, the Top Town awards is the perfect opportunity to showcase why the Scenic Rim is the 'richest place on Earth'.

"I encourage all locals and visitors to jump on and vote for your favourite Scenic Rim town.  You'll even go in the running to win a $2,000 Apollo Motorhome travel package to help you explore.

“It’s fantastic to recognise the diverse and outstanding regional destinations across Queensland. I thank QTIC for championing these new awards and can’t wait to see the winners announced next month.”

The Top Tourism Town Awards feature 37 finalists across the state in two categories: Top Towns, population over 5,000, and Small Towns, population below 5,000. Scenic Rim finalists are:

  • Tamborine Mountain (Top Towns)

  • Boonah (Small Towns)

  • Canungra (Small Towns)

Voting closes at 11.59pm Monday 26 April. The winning town will go on to represent Queensland at the National Awards and be in the running to be named Australia’s Top Tourism Town.
