Can you make a difference in Scenic Rim communities?
Council is calling for expressions of interest from Scenic Rim providers who are suitably skilled in delivering community wellbeing programs in 2021.
Mayor Greg Christensen said following the challenges faced by the community over the past year, it is important our communities are supported through the recovery period to build resilience, maintain connections and strengthen community wellbeing.
"Wellbeing is about balance in all aspects in life that encompasses an holistic approach to health, including physical, mental, social and emotional health," Cr Christensen said.
"Each year as part of our regular programming, we seek interest from Scenic Rim individuals, businesses, artisans, teachers, community organisations and cultural groups who are keen to provide programs for our community.
"This includes arts and cultural programs, performances and exhibitions, as well as our Be Healthy and Active program, and helps us to ensure our programs support local providers, while supporting a healthier, more active and more creative lifestyle for all.
"While we still face some of the restrictions around social distancing, these activities and programs will be more important than ever as they assist our community get back on their feet and reconnect again.
"We will be building our new program with activities that can safely take place in a physical environment to strengthen our social connections and help build resilience, recovery and community wellbeing," Cr Christensen said.
