2018 is not all about the Commonwealth Games, so if you're planning a big event next year let Council help to spread the word. Make sure you're included in Scenic Rim's free 2018 events calendar.

Mayor Greg Christensen said Council was inviting event organisers and community groups with an event on the horizon next year to provide their details for the calendars

"This year we have two event calendars," he said.

"Our regional events calendar is published on Council's popular tourism website www.visitscenicrim.com.au, an important online resource for people planning to travel to or through the Scenic Rim.

"There is also a new community events calendar published on the Council website www.scenicrim.qld.gov.au.

"Upcoming major events are publicised in our monthly enewsletter about what's happening in Scenic Rim, on social media and in promotional releases as well as a weekly radio update.

"Best of all, it's free, all you have to do is submit a listing. Council wants to help you to promote your event as one of the wonderful offerings we have in Scenic Rim.

"Tourism and visitation is worth more than $150 million annually to the Scenic Rim economy, so whether your event is big or small it all contributes to this important sector."

The 2018 regional calendar will go live on www.visitscenicrim.com.au in early November but events can be added at any time by emailing the above address.

"The calendar is also a great way to ensure your event gains added visibility and does not conflict with other major activities occurring in the region," Cr Christensen said.
