Grinches damage town Christmas Tree

Grinches have tried to steal some of Beaudesert's festive cheer by damaging the town centre Christmas Tree.

Mayor Greg Christensen said the Christmas Tree, currently under construction in Central Place ahead of the festive season, had been interfered with on two occasions in recent days.

"This sort of behaviour certainly won't see those responsible on Santa's 'Nice List' at Christmas," he said.

"A CCTV camera is monitoring the tree and surrounding public space.

"It is disappointing that we have to take such steps to prevent damage to something which brings such joy to the community at this special time of year."

Members of the public are encouraged to report any instances of suspicious behaviour or malicious damage to police.
