Council Makes it a Date for 2018

Council has rescheduled its meeting calendar for 2018, with monthly Committee Meetings to be held on Tuesdays to allow more time to consider agenda items.

Although Committee Meetings will move from the third Monday to the third Tuesday of each month, Ordinary Meetings will continue to be held on the fourth Monday of each month.

However, the new calendar cycle of meetings does not apply during January 2018 to allow for the Christmas-New Year period, with the first Committee Meeting of the year scheduled for Tuesday 23 January.

Corporate and Community Services Chair, Cr Virginia West, said other variations in the meeting calendar had been proposed to avoid conflict with known events.

"The 2018 meeting calendar will be published on Council's website and advertised in various Scenic Rim newspapers," she said.

"Although we have changed the days on which Committee Meetings are held to allow more time to consider agenda items, we will continue to hold Ordinary Meetings on Mondays as this was introduced to accommodate the needs of the local media and their publication deadlines."
